    It is wonderful that you are making this trip to bring much-needed services to people in Guatemala. We here in the States certainly have problems galore, including unequal access to affordable health services, but compared to other countries, we are rich indeed. And we have the resources to do even more. Dr. Patel and his team are closing the gap by going to a poorer place.

About Dr. Vipul Patel's Guatemala Mission Trip 2025

This November, I’ll return to Guatemala with the Guatemala Healing Hands Foundation (GHHF) for my 7th surgical mission, and I’m asking for your support. Every dollar you give goes directly to patient care—surgeries, therapy, education, and community development. None of it is used for personal expenses. These trips have been among the most meaningful experiences of my life. Your gift can help a child open a hand, hold a pencil, button a shirt, or hug a parent—simple acts that change a family’s future. About GHHF: GHHF is a nonprofit dedicated to improving access to high-quality care in Guatemala through education, surgery, therapy, and community partnerships. Each mission brings together surgeons, therapists, anesthesiologists, and dedicated volunteers to treat pediatric patients with congenital hand differences, burns, and traumatic injuries of the hand and upper extremity.

Families pay nothing.
Capacity that lasts. We train and work shoulder-to-shoulder with local teams so each trip strengthens care long after we leave.

Volunteers give, too. Our team donates $, time, expertise and covers personal travel; your donations underwrite the full costs of a child’s surgery, therapy, and follow-up.
