About Guatemala Healing Hands Team Missy

I will be traveling with this year's group of volunteer medical professionals to Guatemala City November 13-22. As a hand therapist, I will have the privilege of working with the patient's and their families before and after their surgeries and will also provide support and education to the local hand therapists for continuing care of these patients.

I will be joining 45 other volunteers, among them surgeons, therapists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and students. Several are returning for their 15th or 16th time. Their commitment speaks to our impact and your trust. On this trip we plan to:

·       Evaluate 150+ children for orthopedic surgery, therapy, and custom orthotics

·       Complete 60+ life-changing surgical procedures and therapy

·       Follow up on our patients from previous years

·       Train hundreds of local professionals and students

·       Return to Chichoy Alto to continue our community development programs
